Celebrating over a century of roasting, Filicori Zecchini has outdone itself with this anniversary blend. Filicori Zecchini's 100% Arabica is the roaster's first pure Arabica blend. The number 100 represents not only the proportion of 100% Arabica in the blend, but also refers to the 100-year anniversary.

Indeed, the coffee roasting company was founded in 1919 in Bologna Italy by two friends, Aldo Filicori and Luigi Zecchini. Today, the company is still owned by the families and is now run by the third generation. And to this day, Filicori has remained true and faithful to its long tradition. Only first-class beans are refined and processed according to the traditional, typically Italian roasting method. This means that the beans are roasted separately by variety, gently and slowly in the rotating drum, and then air-cooled. There is simply nothing better!

What makes 100% Arabica so special?

It embodies the art of creating a refined blend that perfectly combines the best characteristics of 3 single-origin coffees: Brazil, Guatemala and Mexico.

What is a Single-origin coffee?

A single-origin coffee is a coffee that originates from a specific geographic location, from where it usually takes its name. Each single origin has unique organoleptic characteristics related to the particularities of the soil and climate. These different characteristics are combined in an elaborate and special blending process. This is precisely this art that makes a blend so incredibly complex and balanced. Flavors and nuances complement each other, bringing out the best notes and engaging all taste buds in harmony. To a coffee connoisseur, single origin is the equivalent of a grape's terroir to a wine connoisseur.

Guatemalan is a Single-origin of the bourbon variety, grown in the Fraijanes - Santa Rosa region at an altitude of 1200-1600m. It is a washed and sun-dried coffee with light fruity notes, strong taste and good body. An aftertaste of cocoa and tobacco makes it very pleasant on the palate.

Brazil is known throughout the world as one of the most distinguished and dedicated coffee producing countries. This Arabica coffee comes from one of the most famous Arabica beans growing regions in the world - Santos, Brazil. The natural and sun-drying process makes it extremely rounded and balanced. The taste is long-lasting and delicate with a strong note of bitter almonds.

Chiapas Single-origin beans come from the state of Chiapas in southeastern Mexico, one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. The high mountains provide the best growing conditions for a premium green coffee. Light cocoa notes and a subtle aroma of fresh tobacco make this variety so distinctive. Notes of cane sugar and cinnamon are perceived on the palate.

The Beans

These three varieties are processed separately and according to individual roasting profiles. This ensures that an optimal flavor is achieved. The degree of roasting varies from medium to strong. This results in a different appearance of the beans, ranging from brown to dark brown. The fine sheen on some beans is proof of a long dark roast, as the coffee oil rises to the surface. This prolonged roasting guarantees a coffee with low acidity and no bitterness.

The first-choice varieties give 100% Arabica Filicori Zecchini its wonderful freshness and multiple aromas. In the cup, the espresso seduces first by its intense dark brown appearance and its fine texture. The taste buds are pampered by an optimal balance between fruit and freshness and the final note is pleasantly sweet, smooth and quickly makes you want the next sip or already to get a refill.

Filicori Zecchini has replaced its packaging with aluminum-free ones. Due to the absence of multiple coatings or composite material, these bags can be 100% recycled.

Thanks to its exceptional quality, 100% Arabica Filicori Zecchini has been certified Espresso Italiano by INEI (Institute Nazionale Espresso Italiano). The institute has been protecting and promoting authentic espresso since 1998.
